Warm sunshine, daisies swaying in the breeze, a cool glass of lemonade on a hot Texas day. Today, we’re talking all things yellow! If you are a color lover like us, you probably look forward to the annual announcement of Pantone’s Color of the Year! We were so thrilled to see the hopeful, happy yellow hue of Illuminating as the 2021 pick and today we are sharing some soft, buttery yellow wedding flower inspiration!
We couldn’t resist the opportunity to team up with one of our favorite photographers, Rosy from Alba Rose Photography (check out our interview with her here!) at the beautiful venue The Schoolhouse!
Modern Yellow Wedding Inspiration
Yellow is definitely a unique color for a wedding palette. Of course, it’s easy to go with a classic like blush and white, but we love it when our couples embrace unique hues for their florals.
And while “yellow flowers” might conjure up images of oversized sunflowers and fiesta themed arrangements, we promise there is a modern, high-end way to interpret every color on the spectrum and yellow is no exception!
The key to making yellow a luxe feeling wedding color? It’s all about what you pair it with! For this shoot, we softened yellow by choosing more buttery tones with just a few accents of really saturated yellow. Then we paired those ingredients with lots of soft creamy whites and champagne tones.
Together with a bit of brighter, organic greenery and a loose, unstructured style, you get this stunning warm, inviting style. We are absolutely obsessed!
Choosing an Accent Color for Yellow
Even with the addition of whites and champagnes, you might crave some bold contract for your wedding palette! This is especially appropriate in the fall and winter months where more saturated palettes are popular.
For yellow, think about adding in an accent of slate blue or emerald green! This both are lovely colors that provide a great backdrop to compliment your yellow florals. Plus, they would make stunning choices for your bridal party, linens, signage and other decor accents throughout your wedding design.
