Today, we are so excited to kick off our most-loved vendor series! We have the pleasure of working with some of the most incredibly talented vendors in the Dallas-Fort Worth wedding industry and we want to share them with you.
First up, we want to introduce you to Elena of Elena’s Cakes!
Elena designs & creates some of the most romantic and beautiful wedding cakes we’ve seen. (And if we’re ever around long enough to get a slice, you know we can’t say no!)
Let’s hear from Elena:
Tell us about your business!: I had a very cliche start - always loved baking, but never attempted to decorate a cake. Everything changed when I saw a gorgeous Wedding cake at my friends bakery. It was the most beautiful confection I have ever seen! And apparently it was God given - I was in love with Buttercream. When I finally got brave enough to open my own bakery, my husband suggested a simple name for it - Elena's Cakes, that's how my business was born.
What is your favorite thing about working in weddings?: I would say, after more than 20 years in business, every wedding is a blessing! I love being a part of a Big Day, be able to create something beautiful and make people happy, it has been a dream job!
What trends are you seeing in your field? Any forecasts for future trends?: Due to Covid, there is definitely a trend for a lot of smaller weddings - very intimate events that include only family members and closest friends.
Design wise, I believe we are going to see a lot of simple, but elegant cakes, and what I call an "Understated Couture" cakes. (We absolutely love this concept!! Understated Couture can totally apply to flowers too!)
What advice would you give to couples looking to hire your category?: My advice to couple - go with your heart (and your stomach), and as Wedding professionals, we will do everything in our power to make sure your Event will be perfect!
